David T. Kaufhold - Executive Vice President of Operations


David T. Kaufhold is a Seasoned Business Leader & Management Executive. He is customer focused with a dynamic proven ability to influence organizational direction & culture, to develop and implement financial strategies that provide significant financial results to the organization, and to build a leadership team which empowers others to achieve the organizations goals and objectives.  Skilled extensively in all-purpose financial services.  Professional experience includes 13 years with Jack In The Box, the fifth largest hamburger chain in the U.S., from  1995 – 2008.  In 2006, the company had over 2,000 restaurants (1,450 company owned) located in 16 states, primarily in the West and Southwest.  Revenue for fiscal year 2006 was $2.8 billion. A CEO and CFO change prompted a shift in strategic direction that led to selling Company owned restaurants to franchisees.  Mr. Kaufhold was then Vice President – Operations (Eastern Division) 1999 – 200reporting to the President of Jack In The Box, Inc., served as one of two Vice Presidents responsible for directing operations across the country.  Was responsible for 770 restaurants through a staff of five Regional Vice Presidents. Also had responsibility for asset protection and facility maintenance departments for the entire company.  Was an officer of the company from 2001 to 2007.  In 1995-1999 Mr. Kaufhold was Vice President of the Regional Jack In The Box – Dallas, TX.  Managed a region with approximately 150 restaurants.  Opened 50 new restaurants in the region in the first three years. Successfully led a major turnaround situation during a significant growth period.  Spent 15 years with LONG JOHN SILVER’S, INC.  in Atlanta, GA/Dallas, TX/Lexington, KY from 1980-1995, with more than 1,200 units in 36 states, 80% of the restaurants were company-owned.  Long John Silver’s was a subsidiary of Yorkshire Global Restaurants, which also owned A&W Restaurants.  Restaurant giant YUM! Brands acquired both the Long John Silver’s and A&W chains and have since sold them.  Vice President  of Operations from 1993-1995 , recruited from the Finance Department by the CEO to strengthen the field operations and provide bench strength for the Divisional Vice President level.  Responsibilities included the operations of 84 Long John Silver’s shops in six states, which together, produced an annual revenue of $52 million.  Annual planning and execution was accomplished through nine Area Managers, a Human Resource Manager, a Training Manager, and a Field Marketing Manager.  Mr. Kaufhold was Assistant Controller from 1989-1993, responsible for financial statement preparation for of 1,000 restaurants, as well as, development, modeling, implementation and automation of all bonus plans, and development of all shop-level and G&A budget plans.  Provided direct financial support and analysis to the Chief Operating Officer.  Designed and implemented an automated supplemental financial reporting system that rolled-up to all levels of the organization.  Education and Affiliations include GEORGETOWN COLLEGE  Professor of Accounting – Principles of Accounting I & II
